FreshWater's British made Pearl 7-stage cartridge removes 99.99% of all particles larger than one micron including dirt, rust, sediment, bacteria and parasites.

It improves taste and odour and removes harmful chlorine which recent research has shown may be implicated in certain cancers.
The Pearl cartridge also removes organic pollutants such as agricultural pesticides, herbicides, oestrogens and other chemicals.
The cartridge additionally removes dissolved heavy metals, such as cadnium, lead and mercury.
The Pearl cartridge however will leave in beneficial minerals to further benefit your health

The 7 Stages to Purity

Stage 1 - 99% of all particles larger than 1 micron (not visible to the human eye) are removed. This includes bacteria, parasites, metals, organic matter and other chemicals. The ceramic is impregnated with silver, which as well as providing a secondary barrier against contaminents also acts to keep the ceramic sterile

Stage 2 - Activated carbon removes chemicals and organis pollutants such as agriculturah herbicides and pesticides.

Stage 3 - Coconut based granular activated carbon removes chlorine, improves taste and odour and further tackles chemicals.

Atage 4 - Anthracited based granular activated carbon is used to 'polish' the water and removes colour, xeno-oestrogen, chlorine by-products and chemicals

Stage 5 - Specially designed flow baffles improve the efficiency of the filtration process

Stage 6 - Selective ion exchange resin removes toxic heavy metals from the water such as cadnium, lead and mercury.

Stage 7 - Finally, a 20 micron polypropolyene layer prevents the escape of any carbon or resin particles

FAQ's

How long will the cartridge last?

It will depend upon the amount of use and the amount of contamination in the water. Normally we would recommend changing the filter every 6 months but with light usage this may be extendable by a few months.

Will it remove Cryptosporidium?

Yes.

How can l tell when it needs replacing?

Normally you will notice a decrease in flow as the ceramic layer beomes clogged with contaminants.

What is the shelf life of an unused cartridge?

Approximately 2 years. It should be stored in a cool, dry place with the outer wrapping kept intact. Never allow the cartridge to freeze.

Will the Pearl cartridge remove fluoride?

No. To remove fluoride effectively you will need either the FW2000 (stainless steel housing) or the MP2K Fountain Purifier (heavy duty plastic housing).
Both of these are twin cartridge filters which utilise the Pearl cartidge in the first housing and a specialist fluoride removal cartridge in the second housing.
